About Sirince

SIRINCE GREEK VILLAGE

Sirince is located a short distance from Selcuk, amidst grapevines, peach and apple orchards.  Sirince means pretty and is an old Orthodox village, with stone and stucco houses, with red tiled roofs, representing a typical depiction of Turk-Greek culture.

The Church of St John the Baptist can be found in the small town, covered in rapidly fading frescoes.  Down the small streets you will find women selling handcrafts, lace, wines and olive oils.

Although Sirince’s tourism is rapidly developing, the town has still been able to preserve its authenticity and the meaning of its name.
